Tickets are now on sale for the Four Rivers Drama Club’s production of Twelfth Night! Join us for Shakespeare's madcap romantic comedy of gender bending, mistaken identity, and practical jokes, all set in the 1960s music scene.
This version of Twelfth Night takes place in fictional Illyria in the late 1960s, where the real royalty are the superstars of the music revolution.
Viola and her twin brother Sebastian have been shipwrecked, and each believes the other to be drowned. Viola disguises herself as a young man and, under the name Cesario, gets a job as a servant for Duke Orsino.
Orsino is in love with the countess Olivia, but she's mourning for her dead brother, so has rejected all his advances so far. He sends Cesario (who is really Viola) with love letters to woo Olivia on his behalf. Unfortunately for Orsino, Olivia is taken in by the disguise and falls in love with Cesario/Viola, who has fallen in love with Orsino.
Meanwhile, Olivia’s business manager, Malvolio, disapproves of all the other members of her household – her drunken uncle Sir Toby Belch, his friend Sir Andrew Aguecheek, her stylist Maria, and former band member Feste. Fed up with Malvolio constantly spoiling their fun, they decide to get even with a practical joke.
When Viola’s brother Sebastian turns up alive, accompanied by the wanted activist Antonio, the mistaken identities and love triangle collide in a resolution only Shakespeare could manage.

Exciting News for A Happening IV: Leviathan
Cloudgaze and Eggtooth Productions are thrilled to announce that we have received a generous grant from the Markham-Nathan Fund for Social Justice to support our 2024 Immersive Arts Festival, “A Happening IV: Leviathan.”
This festival will transform the Shea Theater into an exploration of theme, hosting installations, music, theatrical performances, and movement pieces, featuring the collective contributions of over 30 local artists. Audiences will experience otherworldly environments and narratives inspired by folklore, fairy tales, horror motifs, American literature, and the mythos of the Old Testament, all of which delve into the central question guiding the festival: "What does it mean to encounter something greater than yourself and to be consumed by it?" Through this theme, we explore how a community reemerges and imagines itself after destruction and transformation.
With the support of the Markham-Nathan Fund, we are excited to create an event that complicates perspectives and fosters meaningful dialogue. We are grateful for this partnership and for the work of the Markham-Nathan Fund for Social Justice.
Thanks to the Mass Cultural Council for their vital support this year. We'd also like to thank the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts for their support in the form of a Flexible Funding grant. We couldn't do this work without you!
