ABOUT SCISSORFIGHT

Scissorfight is the leading speed doom band in the world. Despite the lack of an official “speed doom” category on Wikipedia, Scissorfight is undeterred in their pursuit of heavy grooves and riffs. Originating from the northern New England wilderness, the band is dedicated to delivering powerful and intense music.

The current line-up features Doug Aubin on vocals, Rick “Stixxx” Orcutt on drums, Paul “Jarvis” Jarvis on bass, and Jay “Octocock” Fortin on guitar. Scissorfight has an extensive discography, including their most recent album “Doomus Abruptus, vol. 1,” which received critical acclaim. The band is known for their unique blend of speed doom, construction metal, nuisance metal, blackish metal, and potcore.

Scissorfight’s live shows are a wild and energetic experience, featuring a mix of riffs, volume, and beer. Other antics may also occur, but the one thing you can count on is a good time. Please be sure to enjoy Scissorfight’s music responsibly, with the right amount of alcohol, pot, and high volume.

ABOUT THEWORST

Hailed by Alternative Press as the "...glorious love child of Joan Jett & Kurt Cobain," theWorst

has been on a meteoric rise since their inception. Led by bandleader and true survivor, Brooke Binion, the band has gained a reputation as a one-of-a-kind raucous live act, fueled by an aggressive raw sound, anthemic songs and a brutally honest lyricism that is rare in today's highly commercial and often fabricated mainstream music scene. Having toured nationwide and coast to coast since 2016, theWorst features Binion on lead vocals and guitar, alongside Will Bradford (SeepeopleS) on bass and Craig Sala (Paranoid Social Club, Kurt Baker, Planeside) on drums. The band earned wide critical acclaim with the release of their debut album Jane Doe Embryo (RascalZRecordZ 2017), produced by Will Holland (Pixies, Fall Out Boy) and recorded at the legendary Chillhouse Studios in Boston, MA. Recently, theWorst released their second full length album with Will Holland, entitled Yes Regrets, which features guest musical contributions from the likes of Tony Bevilacqua (The Distillers, Spinnerette) Dana Colley (Morphine, Vapors of Morphine), Nikki Glaspie (Beyoncé, Nth Power, Maceo Parker, Griz), and Nate Edgar (Nth Power, John Brown’s Body). The album has been featured in Alt-Press, Revolver, Brooklyn Vegan, Under The Radar Magazine, Glide and many more. The band is currently on tour in support of the album and back in the studio working on their third album on RascalZ RecordZ. For more information, please visit:

Exciting News for A Happening IV: Leviathan

Cloudgaze and Eggtooth Productions are thrilled to announce that we have received a generous grant from the Markham-Nathan Fund for Social Justice to support our 2024 Immersive Arts Festival, “A Happening IV: Leviathan.”

This festival will transform the Shea Theater into an exploration of theme, hosting installations, music, theatrical performances, and movement pieces, featuring the collective contributions of over 30 local artists. Audiences will experience otherworldly environments and narratives inspired by folklore, fairy tales, horror motifs, American literature, and the mythos of the Old Testament, all of which delve into the central question guiding the festival: "What does it mean to encounter something greater than yourself and to be consumed by it?" Through this theme, we explore how a community reemerges and imagines itself after destruction and transformation.

With the support of the Markham-Nathan Fund, we are excited to create an event that complicates perspectives and fosters meaningful dialogue. We are grateful for this partnership and for the work of the Markham-Nathan Fund for Social Justice.

Thanks to the Mass Cultural Council for their vital support this year. We'd also like to thank the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts for their support in the form of a Flexible Funding grant. We couldn't do this work without you!
