ABOUT MATT SWANTON
At 9 years old, he was inspired to pick up the guitar after going to shows at The Bull Run in his home town of Shirley, MA. He spent his teen years practicing in his bedroom, playing in high school groups, and sitting in at blues jams. He continued his musical endeavors into college, attending UMass Lowell, where he earned a degree in Sound Engineering and performed in many ensembles with his peers. After years of cutting his teeth and getting to share the stage with the likes of Mike Zito, Albert Castiglia, Popa Chubby, and Ronnie Earl, he is taking to the stage with his no frills, no BS blues band.
ABOUT BARRETT ANDERSON
“Anderson has the chops and spark to make a real statement his own way. Hot stuff.” – Chris Spector, Midwest Record
Billboard and radio charting, award winning, Blues/Roots guitarist and singer, Barrett Anderson, has a career going back to the late ‘90s. This Boston-based musician tours nationally and internationally, and has played over a thousand shows in some of the largest – and also smallest – clubs, theaters, festivals and venues - solo, with his band, or supporting other legendary musicians (Ronnie Earl, Monster Mike Welch, Anthony Geraci, David Maxwell, Billy Price, T-Model Ford, Pinetop Perkins, “Steady Rollin” Bob Margolin, Johnny Rawls, and John Primer to name a few).
ABOUT THE SHEA THEATER
The Shea provides performance space for a variety of attractions designed to appeal to the widest range of tastes. Musical offerings include folk, pop, rock, swing, jazz, country and traditional. Theatrical productions encompass musical comedy, drama, comedy, and political satire. In addition, audiences can take advantage of magic shows, children's shows and silent film revivals.
The Shea, with the help of a wonderful corps of volunteers, has been attracting a growing audience and as a result is bringing people into Turners Falls from an ever larger geographical area. This growth has put the Shea on a firmer financial footing, providing the basis for expectations of an even more exciting future for this vital community asset.
