Erin McKeown: In Song & Conversation with Monte Belmonte & HAMILTON Musical Singalong

Support The Shea Theater, hear some of your favorite Erin McKeown songs, and get a preview of Erin McKeown’s new musical Miss You Like Hell; recently featured in the New York Times and co-written with Quiara Alegría Hudes, Tony-nominated writer for In The Heights, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first Broadway smash. And speaking of Lin-Manuel Miranda, and since Erin and Monte are HUGE fans of Hamilton, Erin, Monte and special guests including Ben Clark from Clarkdale Fruit Farm, Broadway actress (and Ben Clark’s better half) Lori Holmes Clark, Jim Zaccara from Hope & Olive, and more will be leading a Hamilton Musical Singalong with selections from the almost embarrassingly addictive Broadway smash. (And I mean, let’s face it-you’re probably never going to get to see it on Broadway unless you mortgage your house. We can all at least commiserate and sing-a-long together.)

Playbill writes “Erin McKeown is an accomplished rock composer and lyricist, whose complex and specific lyrics filter through her clarity of melodic line and rebellious use of rhythm. I think lyrics are often the unsung heart and soul of musicals, and McKeown combines a poet’s instinct for metaphor with a storyteller’s instinct for forward momentum. She makes the great human emotions surprising and immediate. I’m honored to be collaborating on her first musical—it’s called Miss You Like Hell and opens at La Jolla Playhouse this fall. She’s already sharing gems and inklings about her next works, so it seems the theatre bug has bitten. She’s a mature artist with the child-like energy of someone new and fearless—a wonderful combination.” -Quiara Alegría Hudes, Tony-nominated writer for In The Heights

Exciting News for A Happening V: The Bestiary

Cloudgaze and Eggtooth Productions are thrilled to announce that we have received generous grants from the Mass Cultural Council as well as the Community Foundation of Western MA to support our 2025 Immersive Arts Festival, “A Happening V: The Bestiary.”

This festival will transform the Shea Theater into an exploration of theme, hosting installations, music, theatrical performances, and movement pieces, featuring the collective contributions of over 50 local artists. Audiences will experience otherworldly environments and narratives inspired by Aesop's Fables, George Orwell's Animal Farm, newly imagined cautionary tales, and creature myths of all origins.

Thanks to the Mass Cultural Council for their vital support this year. We'd also like to thank the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts for their support in the form of a Flexible Funding grant. We couldn't do this work without you!
